How long does it take to play?

Games can take 20-40 minutes to play depending on the player count and their fortunes or misfortunes!

What is the age recommendation?

The game is recommended for players of ages 13 and up.

What is the difference between the upcoming version and those from the Kickstarter?

There are several differences outlined for you here:

• Larger box with different design. The retail edition will have a larger box and it will be a telescoping box (as opposed to the slide out box from the Kickstarter) with a custom insert inside.
• The retail edition will include some enhancements and accessibility improvements to improve clarity of the rules and gameplay. Some card names have been changed to be more thematic names as opposed to mechanical (for example, “Take From Discard/The Tail”) will now be called “Remorse/The Tail”
• The retail edition will only have one card for Jude, Cardan, and the Crown. The KS version had 2 versions of each of those cards.
• The retail edition will have the foil card backs like the KS edition, however the edges will be regular edges. The Green foil edged and Gold foil edged decks will remain as exclusive versions of the Kickstarter.
• The Rules will be in a booklet instead of an accordion sheet and they have been reorganized. The back of the booklet will have a Quick Start guide meant to get you refreshed on the rules in one simple page for when it has been a little while since you last played.
• The retail edition will include 4 reference cards, one for each player. In the KS version, there was 1 reference found on the back of the slide out tray.
• Finally, the Retail Edition will have a Secret Envelope to be found underneath the insert. Doing this has become a calling card of most Van Ryder Games titles and we are excited to do it for Enemies & Lovers. What’s inside? Well that’s a secret of course.

When will the retail edition be available?

This Winter. Our goal is to pre-release the game at The Spiel convention in Essen Germany in October with the full release to follow shortly after. As the release date gets closer we will communicate a more exact time frame and/or the exact date of release.

Where can I buy it?

The game will be available at Barnes and Noble, Books-a-Million, online retailers, and in select book/hobby/game stores across the USA and around the world. You will also be able to order it directly from us on our website and we ship worldwide.

Will there be a preorder?

This is still to be determined, but for now there are no plans for a preorder. You will be able to get it upon release as mentioned above! But just in case we change our minds, sign up for our newsletter so you don’t miss any announcements.

Will the game be available in other languages?

The initial release will be English only but we have foreign publishing partners around the world and we will be working with as many as we can to produce the product in other languages.
