People have changed. They look the same, but their behavior is oddly different. No laughter, no passion, no emotion of any kind. People just going about their daily routines with a vacant look in their eyes. You knew the daily work grind can get to people but not like this. You suspected something else was causing this. And then you discovered an empty pod in your neighbor’s trash. You tried telling the police, reporters, anyone who would listen but they all just told you it was your imagination, or some kind of strange neurosis. At that moment you realized you couldn’t trust anyone and would have to take matters into your own hands.
